Restore file from time machine backup - Not enough space

Hi,

I have a MacBook Pro running MacOS Catalina, and I am trying to restore a file with 30+ Gb from my time machine external hard drive.

After selecting the file, and clicking the restore button, the system says it is preparing to restore the file, but then I get an error stating that is has Not enough disk space to copy "file".

Now, I have almost 200 Gb free in my disk, but time machine is still complaining about it.

I saw a few old posts, but they did not help. I really need to restore this file, otherwise I will loose days of work.
