Your device might not support Big Sur -----> https://www.apple.com/macos/big-sur/ scroll to the bottom you'll find a list of devices that can run Big Sur, if your device is there
try and perform a NVRAM https://support.apple.com/en-il/HT204063
and/ or SMC https://support.apple.com/en-gb/HT201295
if none of the above works just contact apple
same problem, apparently apple had some issues with big sur and some other problems
apple system status tells that its been fixed but i still cant update, its stuck on the same error for me, i’m really disappointed in apple, especially when you pay 4,000$+

You do not say what exact Mac is this...(?)
the 2013/2014 supportedBoardIDs – Mac-189A3D4F975D5FFC was removed from macOS Big Sur.app 11.0.1 (20B50)
This means that for now you will not be able to install macOS Big Sur on 2013 or 2014 13″ MacBook Pro, until Apple sorts through the issue.
You can see your boardID from the Terminal.app copy and paste:
ioreg -l | awk -F\" '/board-id/ { print $4 }'
