Hi my name is michael , i have 2020 ipad pro and a Samsung T7 2TB SSD , i have a lot of photos stored on the SSD but when its connected to the ipad the Folders App cannot find some of the files , can anyone help?

When using external USB devices, in some circumstances, you may find that a third-party File Manager App will reliably show more files/file types than the native Files App.
There are many to choose from in the Apple App Store. Of those available, one option that has good reputation is File Browser - Document Manager:

We understand that you’re not seeing all of your photos when you connect your external drive to your iPad, and you’d like help. We may be able to answer your questions. Do you know the format of the files that aren’t showing? Only files with formats that are compatible with your iPad will show when you connect an external device.

Hi MichelleT18 , thank you for your reply, i spoke to Apple support over the phone yesterday, 18th November 2020 and their senior technical support person suggested it may be a software thing? Some files appear in my search results from my ssd drive and some don’t , i can see all of the files in the ssd file structure but not all of them appear in the search list. I have a 2TB Samsung T7 ssd , maybe indexing a large amount of folders and files on an external hard drive is just too much for the software?
