Why is USB‑C to Lightning Cable included with iphone 12 Pro Max?

I feel dumb, missing what this is for as the phone has a usb-c connector, not a lightning.

The connector on the iPhone 12 Pro (and Pro Max), LurkingTom, is Lightning, not USB-C.

We’re all human. We all make mistakes.


I suspected that you probably just got “fooled” by the similarity of the receptacle hole.


I was actually a bit surprised when I saw that Apple was still using Lightning on these new phones.


I’m looking forward to the transition to USB-C, but the USB-C socket does take up more space that the Lightning socket.
