Change icons in Mac OS?

I had actually posted a drive link that I uploaded from my mac so you could download the icons for the Apple TV app, but it turns out that the post got pulled down because it 'supposedly' didn't directly answer your question.

Anyway, you can re download Catalina and install it in a VM or external drive, and then copy the app icons from it. Or you could borrow another's mac running Catalina.

1. Disable SIP
2. Go to /Applications/TV.app/Contents/Resources
3. Delete or rename the existing AppIcon.icns file
4. Replace with the AppIcon.icns file from Catalina
5. Keep a backup of the .icns file cause if you update to another version of Big Sur it might be replaced.

I was just reading and trying to edit system files in Big Sur has become way complicated - you can't just disable SIP and be good. Check this link out for more info:

This probably this issue.

I think that the icons you downloaded are the new icons - hence no change. I'm on a different computer at the moment - I'll tell you if that's the case when go back to my Mac. Re-download the icons and see if is a Catalina type icon or Big Sur icon. you can also attach a screenshot

Could you take a screenshot? Thats kinda weird and hopefully it gets fixed. I'm on Catalina right now and not sure exactly what you are seeing.

If nothing works out, you probably gotta wait for a few weeks/months - Big Sur was just released officially yesterday and it takes time for issues to be recognized and tutorials and tips to me made to fix them.

That site is full of very useful information and instructions. I had read that exact same article you linked, and was prepared to refer to it in a reply to Apple_Collector44, but I was too slow on the uptake. I tend to read through the replies before making one, just in such cases as this. :-)

I had tried to make a post, yesterday, with some referrals to that site, but was unsuccessful in my attempt. It had been on another thread, though, but still in regards to Big Sur.

Yes I agree. It has a slight hint of green on the top.

Yeah, I clearly see the green. And there is a difference too. Well, as I said Apple has introduced a new level of security on Big Sur - it may be harder to change the icon.
