Set up a new iPad Air 4 yesterday & everything seems ok except my emails. I receive all off them with no problem but the strange thing is when the email address has 2 words in the address they come reversed. Example: The email should be Apple Store but it comes as Store Apple, Canadian Tire becomes Tire Canadian.
On my old iPad Air they still work fine.

If you go to settings and scroll down to contacts you will see sort order and display order, make sure displayer order is set to First, Last and see if that fixes the problem. Let me know if it helps!
Maybe try logging out of your iCloud account and logging back in. settings > click on your name > sign out
to log back in: settings > click on sign in (same place where your name was before > sign in
Before logging back in, maybe do a hard reset of your iPad. This won't delete any data. Press the Home button and the On/Off button at the same time. Keep holding the buttons down until after the screen turns black and the iPad starts up again. When the Apple logo appears on the screen, release the buttons.
Then sign back into iCloud. Let me know if that helps. If not I would suggest contacting Apple Support :)

i just retried your first suggestion by going into contacts and changed the display order again. Somehow now it works. This was the first thing I had tried but I guess I somehow didn’t go it right. Anyway it’s working now & I thank you for your advice.
