Inability to Use HomePod and TV Speakers Together with Regular 4th Gen Apple TV

When streaming shows, why can I not sync my 4th Gen Apple TV (non 4K) with my HomePod for conjoined audio anymore? Since the recent Apple TV software update this is not been a possibility. This was always a possibility ever since I had my Apple TV and HomePod together. Why Apple?
