Where does MacOS store the Big Sur update

Today I tried to install Big Sur from Catalina (10.15.7). I downloaded a massive 12GB file with the update, and then when I tried to install it I was told that I didn't have enough space to do so (an additional 23GB were required for the installation to proceed).

I now have this 12GB update image lying around on my computer. How can I remove it? Where does MacOS store its update images?

Thanks in advance!

1 - Suggest opening a New Post with your issue. It will get more support instead of hijacking this one.

2 - Suggest Holding Off trying to Upgrade to Big Sur at this time. The MBP 2014 has a lot of issues with this Upgrade that Apple is looking into.

3 - Have a Look over Here and especially look at the Topic about how must Empty Space is recommended Before attempting the upgrade, when you decide to try again.
