mac mail junk folder disappeared after BIG SUR upgrade

I normally "park" unimportant mails in the JUNK folder for later reading and then deleting.

The Junk folder after upgrade disappeared from FAVORITES and the one "on my Mac" is empty.

So two issues:

  • Lost my JUNK marked mails
  • If now I mark an item as JUNK it simply disappears.

However, when a new mail comes in and the system thinks it is for junk, then it is populated in the JUNK folder "on my mac"

Note: My mails are all configured as POP and not IMAP

Thanks

My husband helped me figure this out.

1) Hover your pointer to the right of the "Favorites" heading.

A + symbol and a pull down will appear.

Click on the + symbol.

2) Another window will open.

Select the up/down arrows.

3) All of the mailboxes will appear.

Select the "All Junk" folder/mailbox.

Click "OK".

4) Repeat the same process if there are other mailboxes missing.

Worked, thank you, however after a little "detour"- note that I am on BIG SUR.

When I am on FULL SCREEN hovering over the FAVORITES section all I see is an arrow down (that leads to nothing).

When I am on REDUCED SCREEN, then the + sign appears, and I can add whichever option of the favorites I need.

Is this a bug or "by design"??

The main thing is that it is solved, and thank you very much for your kind input.
