Heres’ the bottom line. If you take what you read in these forums as representative of the entire Apple universe you will NEVER update to ANYTHING. Every single version of macOS ever released has been declared an unmitigated disaster in these forums. These forums are like a hospital, only sick people are here. If you visited a town and visited the hospital, found only sick people, would you then assume everyone else in the town is also sick? No you wouldn’t.
Finally realize there are now over 1 billion Apple devices in the world now. Realize that for the past 15 years Apple has remained at the very top of all customer service and customer satisfaction surveys. What should that tell you?
There are already millions of people using Big Sur perfectly fine. But we don’t hear from them do we.

Did you try Internet Recovery. https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201314 ?
I keep a 32Gb USB Installer which means that I can boot into it and perform checks, erase and reinstall the system from outside the computer itself. Of course, everybody will be keeping an up-to-date Time Machine backup, won't they, especially for when installing a new OS.
I would check to see if the applications you need (for work or school) are supporting Big Sur. I didn't have any issues updating my MBP 2015. There have been a few issues that were easily fixed. One or two only required a reboot. I have not found any show stoppers for me.
Also, always backup your computer before you install a new system update like Big Sur. If you run into issues you can always boot off the backup or restore back to the previous version you have on your backup.
I hope this helps.
Paul
Been using Apple for 6years now, never had any major issues. But this time with the update, i cant get back into my mac.
I even called customer care, talked to them for an hour . End they told me to go see a software repair.
That’s a bit patronizing, it was a simple question ThanhAnUwU was asking.
mall you needed to say was “should be fine” you sound very defensive and that is not what this community forum is for.
there have been a lot of issues, so it is a good thing to wait a few days to get the bugs fixed and then I would update then. :))

Wow. You jumped into a thread to call out someone who solved the original poster's question?
Please dont do it now. I tried and im locked out of my macbook pro.
You got "locked"?
Yes i tried all the recovery options but nothing goes through. It doesnt take in my user password.
What is your MacBook Pro year model?
13" 2019.
You make a Backup by using Time Machine.... right?
Ok, Thanks a lot.
Than, 2015 15".
I did, even though it was solved, because sometimes it’s not what we say but how. That’s all...we all love Apple and we should be kind to eachother, that’s all @bobthefisherman 😌
