Flowing text in layout mode

I'm still trying to rectify an error I made by starting what became a complex document in w/p mode. I've stripped out all the illustrations and captions to another file so I only have text.

I created a text box in a new page layout doc and copy/pasted into it so I have a text box with a 1 on a green circle at the top and a '+' at the bottom as shown at https://support.apple.com/en-gb/guide/pages/tan6d9592dde/mac

I've then created a p2 text box, clicked on the '1' so the text flows to p2.

Do I now really have to do this 160 times over?

I seem to remember that in PageMaker, which withered on the vine 20 years ago, you could do something like opt/click on the '+' symbol and it would just go on creating text boxes and flowing the text ad infinitum.

Is this really not possible in Pages 20 years on, or am I missing something?

Cheers,

Colin

I was with PM from beta 0.98 to 6.5 for work, I still miss it for pleasure!

Interleaf and Framemaker I only played with, also Ventura. I really like the simplicity of the Claris suite, also from beta.

I'm assuming that there is no way around my problem: it is an issue because I had inline illustrations with captions and I inserted the grouped with a caption and marked them to move with the text, but randomly some decided to say on the page, so when I added text above them it all went awry.

Another missing parameter that PM had was to be able to set bounding boxes differently on all sides of a graphic ...

Cheers, Colin
