I'm finding it very difficult to see the MAIL tool bar icons on my 27" imac pro. The background color and the color/size of the icons and text make for reduced contrast. Any suggestions? Thanks.

There is no user preferences here—outside of Accessibility.
You can change the resolution of the Display
>System Preferences>Display>Scaled

Changing these settings also changes the main computer toolbar. A plus in my book. I hated the BigSur menu turning dark automatically. I don't need Apple deciding what type of toolbar suits me. I'll make that call thank you! Stop stealing our autonomy Apple!
I think I answered my own question. I went into System Preferences>Accessibility>Display and checked the Increase Contrast box. That helped and plus the icon and text size increased enough to see them more easily. Hope this helps others with the same question.
yes it works well .. go to apple top left, system prefs then display then tick scaled and shows you a screen with options take the second one from the left....
