HP8600 Printer Stopped Printing after Catalina Updated on November 13, 2020

I am using an iMac computer with the most recent version of macOS Catalina 10.15.7. When the software for the computer updated on November 13, 2020, the HP8600 (all in one printer) stopped printing. I can scan in documents from the HP8600 to the computer, but can't print. Therefore, there is a connection (between the computer and the printer by a USB cable), but it is not letting me print. I have downloaded the updated driver on the HP site where the update is dated November 12, 2020 and rebooted the computer and printer a couple of times, but it still doesn't print. The default code states "Printing-Waiting for printer to become available." The printer is on and available. It was working before Catalina updated.  Is anyone else having this problem? What have you done to fix it? Apple tech support says it is an HP issue. I can't find any phone number where I can reach any tech support at HP. Does anyone have a phone number to call tech support at HP?  Any suggestions would be appreciated! Thanks.

Sorry you are going through this. Since I am having the same issue, HP needs to find a fix for it by creating a new driver for the problem. The new HP Easy Start.app doesn't help with the printer issue with the HP 8600 as it doesn't print. I did get it to scan in documents. So, right now the only solution is to use the HP 8600 as a copier or scanner and buy a new All in One. HP should fix the problem asap.

I am using a macBookPro together with a HP Officejet Pro 8600. The last week I have got printing problem. Before that I have used my HP printer for 6 years without trouble.

My guess is that it started after I installed an additional update for macOS 10.15.7 a week ago. I get status "Printer-Waiting for printer to become available" even when there is nothing in printer queue. I have tried to fix the problem by download the lastest HP Easy Start.app  (12 November 2020) several times and uninstall and install HP-driver (both for USB and WiFi). I have also switch off/on the electric current to the printer a couple of times. Sometimes I have succeeded to print one time over WiFi and after that the printer is again not available, even when I do a reboot of macOS.
