Mac OS Big Sur Date and Time Darkened/Greyed Out

A couple of days ago, I downloaded Big Sur for my MacBook Pro (2018). Everything was working as normal yesterday, and I've used Dark Mode for a few months now, but I noticed this morning that my date and time are very dark, even for Dark Mode, to the point where I cannot read them (See the first attached picture below). However, when I click on the date and time to temporarily bring up the Notifications and Widgets section, the date and time become their normal whiteness (See the second attached picture below).

Is there a way to rectify this issue so that the date and time remain bright even when not clicked on? Thank you for your advice!

Place the cursor on the date/time and then press Option and click. That worked for me.

And you can use those steps to grey out the date/time, if anyone cares. I assume I just pressed that by mistake before.

I always have Do Not Disturb on to get zero notifications on my desktop, so this was greyed out for me too.

Apparently the disabled text is indicating DND is on, press option and click to turn it off and you'll see the text is no longer disabled.

If you put the moon icon in the menu bar then the date / time stop being greyed out by DND. It's ridiculously silly.

Brilliant! For some reason DND was set by default to turn on from 7am to 4pm, which is when I actually need to receive notifications, so I had no idea it was on. I just checked and changed the DND settings to suit my lifestyle and the issue has been solved. Thank you!

omg, yes!!! This is 100% stupid! I couldn't see the time and date properly every time... now they're making me have that stupid moon on the menu bar smh
