iPhone 12 Mini Touchscreen

Other people are reporting this, too. I have an iPhone 12 mini with a tempered glass screen protector and an Apple leather case and have the same issue. When the phone is locked, I have intermittent trouble swiping up from the bottom to unlock. Also, the flashlight and camera buttons on the lock screen don't work.

What people have found (and I can confirm) is that plugging in the phone temporarily resolves the issue. Also, removing the case resolves it too. People think it might be due to a conductivity or grounding issue. Hopefully it's something that a software update can fix.

If you’ve installed a screen protector, remove it. That solved the problem for me.

I have the same problem with the Apple leather case - contacted Apple support and was told that the case I got may be defective. Plan to replace the case with one without Magsafe.

The new software update did NOT change the screen issue when using a tech 21 phone case. It doesn’t work.

Same problem here Dave. Got it delivered the first day it was out, screen protector and UAG case and thought I was set. Lovely phone pity I can't answer any calls, the touch screen barely works and I've never made the torch or camera work. £749 for what? Mine's going back, will rebuy if they solve the issue.

It’s fixed now! Apple just released iOS 14.2.1 which takes care of the lock screen sensitivity issue among other things. You can download the update in System Settings->General->Software Update.

Trying out a case which doesn’t have MagSafe - working ok so far.

Nope - this case gave the same problem.

The same thing happened to me, but yesterday Apple updated the software and it was solved.

This problem has been solved by iOS 14.2.1. I hope you’ve downloaded and are now free from this issue.
