Text, clones, moving? Dont understand
Just having a hard time understanding this cloning layers to make text rotate with the block to second drop zone .

A Clone is an object. It is not a duplicate of the object(s) being cloned, it is merely a "projection" onto a 2D plane of the cloned content. A Clone can be moved/animated in 3D space, but often, it will not appear exactly as the original objects would appear if visible.
Clones have no depth... ever. There are no layers of content - ever - in a clone. What you see on the front, you will see (in reverse) on the back. Rotating the original objects being cloned, with a flat, front-facing clone will display the layering effect of an animation. Therefore, when making text flip with "boxes", you would create that group of objects, depending on your "technique", you may animate the group of objects, then clone the group, turn off the group's visibility in order to display the effect. Realize that unlike any other 3D orientation in Motion, projecting this "3D effect" in a Clone is merely a flat screen — quite often it will not appear exactly the same as the original content (things like parallax and perspective will look a little different especially when you rotate the clone in 3d space.)
I see a lot of masks being used. Masking a Clone of a group of objects with animation is a good way to simplify that operation.
As with most things Motion: there is usually more than one way to accomplish... anything! What you're looking at is one person's approach to a "problem". Doesn't mean it is the "right" or "only" way to create the effect.
I'm sure you have more questions! Ask away. Try to be more specific about the objects involved (include the Source object when referring to what the clones are representing.)
