Someone elses name appears on my created iTunes playlists

Thanks for reaching out here in the Apple Support Communities. We see that your name isn't appearing on the playlists you create.

We're glad to help.


The name that appears should be the same as the name you used to set up Apple Music.

You can see what that is, and edit it using the steps found here:

See what friends are listening to in Apple Music on your iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, or Android device - Apple Support


If you're not able to edit the profile name, some more information might be helpful.

  • Do you recognize the name that appears on your playlists?
  • When did this issue begin happening?
  • Is anything different from when it was working until now, such as an update to the iOS or a new Apple ID?
