iPhone 12 Big Sur

My iPhone 12 is not appearing in a Finder window in Big Sur when I connect it with a USB A cable on my late 2015 iMac.

iphone not showing in finder my iphone Xs suddenly stopped showing in finder on my Imac. Strangely enough the Iphone does show up in the USB port in hardware configuration and it does download photos to the photo app norma;;y. I updated all the software, restarted and relaunched finder with no effect. Finder syncs with ipad no problem so the port and cable are OK. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks for the hint. The entire thing was my mistake. Under devices, I was looking lower in the list and missed the iPhone higher in the list. It came on fine and trusted. I was able to sync.
