I've noticed a few times a line appearing straight down the centre of the iMac screen. I've read a few other people mention lines on the screen of the latest iMac 2020. Would anyone know if this is a software/driver issue or actually a hardware issue? This is a brand new iMac 2020 with the Radeon 5700XT.

Either macOS 10.15.7, or one of its subsequent supplemental updates was said by Apple to fix some of the display aberrations for the 16GB 5700XT. Apply those updates, and upon a reboot see if that line remains.
I just today call Apple sales and tech support and they do not acknowledge any issues with the 16GB 5700XT. Just before making a purchase of a new iMac 2020 I saw a lot of traffic on the net and wanted to verify if this is a real issue. Do I have cause for concern? The last thing I want to do is order a new machine only to return it. Can anyone offer any info? Is this a real issue?
Would appreciate any input before buying :)

@KJArb … I wouldn't let it put you off purchasing one of these iMacs, the line dow the screen appears very rarely and when it does I've found that by forcing the screen to sleep (Shift+Ctrl+Eject) and then waking, the line will disappear. Aside from that, I've found it a very good iMac, so I would still recommend it.
