I was having the same issue and about to throw both my JBL speaker and my new phone out the window. However I got it to pair by pressing the raised Bluetooth symbol on the speaker by the volume + and - symbols. Voila, it worked for me. Hope you all have the same luck.

I had to press the play button and volume
up (+) button to reset it to factory.
Next I went to setting and had my phone “forget this device”
I restarted my phone and started all over again.
I got it by pressing the Bluetooth button on the side of the speaker. It is on the bottom side of the charger. Turn on your Bluetooth on the phone and then press this button on the speaker. I hope it works.
I’ve tried everything I can think of. My new Promax 4 will not connect to my My JBL Flip 4. Seriously annoying considering how “incredible” this phone is. It’s not my speaker. I can connect other devices just fine. Is this a bug?
Hi there, denny277.
Congratulations on your new iPhone 12 Pro!

My jbl 1 will not pair with my new iPhone 12 - it paired previously to my old iPhone 10. When I turn my speaker on & go into settings on Bluetooth it just buffers & says searching for a device
I’m having a lot of sound problems with iPhone 12. I regret buying it. I’ll probably go back to my 11. I can do anything right. Sound problems in all social media’s, many sound problems with videos calls. Just terrible.
anyone else? Maybe I just got a defect one.
Hey, this works! I’d been pressing the other Bluetooth button near the power button but no joy. Then discovered the raised button on the side near the volume buttons and voila. It paired immediately. Thank you.!
I found the only thing that worked for me was turning my phone off and on. It was a waste of time disconnecting and unpairing and then pairing my jbl speaker charge4. Also pressing the Bluetooth button on the speaker didn’t work.
I was having the same issue after I got my iPhone 12 Pro with my JBL 3. If your pairing button is not working to connect it, press the other bluetooth button by the volume control while the pairing button is still flashing
Same thing happening to me. Iphone 12 pro max not connecting with jbl flip 4 but will connect to several other Bluetooth devices. The article didn’t help. Any other suggestions?
I have the same issue, but tried this also and it’s not showing up under my Bluetooth devices. It just keeps searching but the jblflip4 not showing up.
Thank you. Yes that worked! I was pressing the wrong button and a friend of 16 yo son did that and it worked. Thank goodness for the young ones! Appreciate the advice.
This is the fix, press top bluetooth button on the speaker. Thanks
I got the new IPhone 12 pro and it won’t connect with my jbl flip 4.
