Script Editor Mojave Won't Open To New Document

I have a nagging problem that I have put off and put off. I am running Mojave 10.14.6. I use AppleScript a lot and when I double click on Script Editor, I always get an open and save dialog box. I don't want this box to appear, I just want Script Editor to immediately open to a new document by default. I had the same problem with TextEdit and I was able to fix it. No matter what I do with Script Editor, though, I cannot solve this problem. iCloud Drive >> Script Editor is unchecked. No documents are being saved into the cloud but every time I double click on Script Editor, an open and save dialog box appears. Driving me nuts. Is there a command line I can use, I know that this works for TextEdit:

defaults write com.apple.TextEdit NSShowAppCentricOpenPanelInsteadOfUntitledFile -bool false

Is there a similar one for Script Editor or is there an easy solution I am overlooking? Deleted prefs files to no avail. Restart to no avail. All the usual troubleshooting steps. Nothing helps.
