Third party lightning cables

Lately, I'm getting messages on my iPhone and iPad saying that the accessory connected is not compatible or something like that. Its a very good quality lightning cable with superior braided sleeving. Apple's protection of their proprietary products is understandable, but a charge cable that does not have an equivalent one in the Apple lineup? Surely, my buying a third party charge cable is not going to hurt Apple's bottom line in the least.

Yes, indeed. I did find a piece of lint that probably came from my bedding as both my iPhone and iPad often gets left on the bed beside me. Used the blower that I use on my camera lenses to remove the lint rather than risking more problems with a toothpick as suggested. 😊
