Changed to eSim now Apple Music Library won't sync

Hello all!

I'm hoping you can help me out! I switched my iphone 12 from a sim to esim (not dual plan) and my Apple Music Library disappeared expect for one album. I do subscribe to Apple Music and at the top of my library I see an option that says "Sync Library". I click it and it spins for a bit and then gives me an error.

I then went into the Apple Music settings and turned off sync there and turned it back on again but I just can't get it to sync up again and populate my library.

What can I do?

Thanks!

Hey there, and welcome to Apple Support Communities, verumcorpus!

From our understanding, after changing your iPhone’s SIM, your Apple Music has disappeared. We’d be happy to take a look at this for you!

Before we begin, you mentioned that you change SIM types, did you also change providers? Just to be sure, if you did change cellular providers, was Apple Music billed through your carrier?

If Apple Music is billed through Apple, then when attempting to enable Sync Library, are you connected to Wi-Fi or cellular data?

We’d also recommend updating your iOS version to be sure you’re on the latest iOS https://support.apple.com/HT20420414.2.1, which is only available on iPhone 12’s. Before doing so, be sure to complete a backup of your data using: Update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support

Once complete, go to Settings > General > About, to see if you’re prompted for a carrier update. Let us know the results, and we’ll go from there.

Cheers!
