Apple iPod Touch 6th Gen - battery life
I have an older iPod touch 6th gen I gave to my kid to use for some basic things when on WiFi. Zoom calls, YouTube, and a few apps. The device is responsive enough and I went ahead and did a full erase along with an upgrade to the latest supported iOS version.
It is frequently charging because the battery seems to die frequently. If I put YouTube on it will end up lasting 2 1/2 hours total from 100% charge to powering off. I mainly did that as a test to validate how long video playback works with the battery and this is with audio muted.
if this was brand new out of the box I believe the battery life would be much greater. Surprisingly I still have another month of Apple care left. Does this seem like normal battery usage or would Apple possibly be able to replace the battery and increase the duration?
tentatively I have an appointment booked at a local Apple Store but with Covid I am hesistant on going unless I am sure that there is at least a possibility this can be fixed.
thanks!
