Connecting macbook pro to external keyboard and monitor- only one will work at a time
I have a MacBook Pro (2020) with thunderbolt ports. I want to connect it to an external monitor and keyboard. There is a usb device that came with the keyboard and mouse that I am connecting through a Thunderbolt-multi-USB adaptor. That works when it is the only thing connected. When I also connect my monitor through a a VGA-USB adaptor (using the same Thunderbolt-multi-USB post adaptor), the monitor works, but then my keyboard stops being connected.
How can I use both the keyboard and the monitor at the same time? Do I have to use different Thunderbolt ports? I didn't think I would need to since the Thunderbolt-USB adaptor came with multiple USB slots.
