MacBook Air A1466 broken screen?

I recently made a mistake leaving my MacBook Air (2017, A1466) in the reach of an infant, who knocked it off a chair onto a solid floor. Since this, I've been confronted by half a white screen and half a 'broken screen' upon booting (attached image).

I've tried to access my Mac without success having tried a number of methods recommended by similar topics on this forum:

  1. External display with peripherals (no input to external display upon booting).
  2. Restart MacBook
  3. Reset NVRAM

I thought originally this is a display problem, however with the above not working, there seems to be another issue. Has anyone had any similar experiences that may be able to suggest a cause please? My nearest Apple store is a good drive, and I'm currently unable to make this journey.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

i am trying to add a screen an upper case to the spare MacBook air i have and saw that image on screens i purchased this year on eBay,

therefore before you take everything apart, get a mini display port chord or usb-HDMI cable and attach that to a TV or monitor to make sure the logic board is fine.

if you still get that image on the screen, that problem could be your logic board, if the image is fine, it's the display or chord that goes to the display.
