I Just upgraded to Big Sur and now OpenOffice will not open. The prompt says "OpenOffice quit unexpectedly. Click Reopen to open the application again. Click Report to see more detailed information and send a report to Apple."
I have tried rebooting in safe mode and the problem persists.

My main issue is with the autocorrect - I had made quite the number of customizations. But then I figured out how to copy the dat file fea OO to LO. So that kind of solved the issue for me 😊
Ditch OpenOffice, and switch to the LibreOffice Suite. I have LibreOffice v7.0.3 (currently) working in Big Sur without issues, and it will retain document compatibility with your OpenOffice files, and MS Office.
Another vote for LibreOffice.
