iPad Pro 12.9 (2nd Gen) LED backlight leakage

Hi there, Anyone else experiencing LED backlight leakage on the iPad Pro 12.9 2nd gen? I bought on in October 2017 and 12 months later I had to return it to the store due to this issue where I was immediately issued with a replacement model. Now I have noticed the same issue occurring again on the replacement. In addition to myself, my grandmother who also bought this same iPad model had to return hers 12 months later due to this issue and like myself was issued a replacement. likewise, now she has the exact same issue on her replacement. Its clear there is some sort of hardware defect on these models and after contacting Apple support and speaking with 2 senior advisors I've been told I have to pay £472 + £95 tax for a replacement! Personally I think this is absolutely ridiculous considering its supposed to be a "PRO" model and can't even survive 1+ years without having to be replaced and I don't think a customer should have to pay that hefty amount for a hardware issue that isn't their fault. Has anyone else experienced a similar experience?
