Is anyone else unable to attach or upload a file after Safari update 14.0.1. I'm using Mohave 10.14.6

I upgraded my OS from Mohave to Big Sur 11.1 and the problem is solved - My understanding is that the new version of Safari is integrated into the new OS. Now the Upload button works on all sites that I tried - Amazon, Shopify, Etc...
I had the same problem; I solved by changing browser web; now i'm using Brave and it's all ok.
click on the 'apple' logo top left, then "system preferences..." then "software update"
took about 20-30 mins for me due their being a security update for Macos 10.14.x
Support.apple.com
click through Mac > then Applications > then Safari
and then you’ll be promoted with either posting here or doing a chat with an Advisor
i just did and my advisor was useless
your results may differ
if enough of us complain hopefully they will escalate this
@Tumbach CommandR will re-install the OS that your computer originally came with...
If you want to install a specific MacOS different from what yours originally came with, follow this link instead
https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT211683
Clicking on the MacOS version you do want, will bring you to the MacAppStore download page for that version
Once it finishes downloading it will prompt you to install it
I tried CommandR first, but it prompted me to install HighSierra for my 2018 MBP
I wanted to remain on Mojave so I followed the steps above and now I'm good to go
Yupp having the same exact issue. Found out when I was trying to attach a file on email. Thought it was some small issue going on with my macbook, it was like this again when I was trying to attach some files in another website. All can be solved by using Chrome.. But please fix this!! Its such a hassle to just attach files to something!
Hello!
I have the same issue. Looking at "Console App" I have found the following:
coreauthd -[ContextProxy evaluatePolicy:options:uiDelegate:originator:reply:]_block_invoke -> (null), Error Domain=com.apple.LocalAuthentication Code=-6 "Biometry is not available on this device." UserInfo={BiometryType=0, NSLocalizedDescription=Biometry is not available on this device.} on <private>
kernel ACM: verifyPolicy: Verifying policy DeviceOwnerAuthenticationWithBiometrics, checkKeybagUUID = No, CS[105].
kernel ACM: verifyPolicy: Policy satisfied = No, preflight = Yes, CS[105].
Safari -[LAClient evaluatePolicy:options:uiDelegate:reply:]_block_invoke -> (null), Error Domain=com.apple.LocalAuthentication Code=-6 "Biometry is not available on this device." UserInfo={BiometryType=0, NSLocalizedDescription=Biometry is not available on this device.} on <private>
I hope it helps in order to fix as soon as possible.
Regards!
same thing. can't upload in Egress switch, outlook or indeed anything.
Chrome works fine but a pain to switch over logins etc
How embarrassing Apple. Sort it out please. You have standards to uphold.
It’s http://feedbackassistant.apple.com/ but maybe that’s only available for users with a developer ID.
Can’t stress enough that everyone report this. You could try here too: https://www.apple.com/feedback/safari.html
Widespread problem for Safari in Mojave
My solution is here, to go back to Safari 14.0, where uploads work
ANSWER - method to downgrade from Safari 14.0.2/14.0.1/Mojave (multiple problems eg loading files)
Apple literally just released Safari 14.0.2 for Mojave today and guess what? FILE UPLOAD IS STILL BROKEN. MacRumors' functionality works, which is weird, but any other site that has a normal "choose file" button doesn't work:
See on https://ps.uci.edu/~franklin/doc/file_upload.html or https://viljamis.com/filetest/ (websites you can test basic browser file upload capabilities).
Stop giving us this terrible support, @Crapple.
Steve Jobs would be sad.
Yes, I am have the exact same problem, running the same system, and having to use the same work around of running iCloud on google chrome. How bizarre is that? Not being able to use APPLE Safari to run APPLE iCloud successfully!
I also have this problem. Must use Chrome to work now. Will probably ditch Safari completely as Chrome seems to have better features and has never let me down. These trivial things can be infuriating.
Yes I am having the same problem, in my case since the most recent update to Safari 14.0.2. I'm also using Mohave 10.14.6.
I'm currently working around it by dragging and dropping the files I want to attach into the email. But it's a pain!
Surely Safari could sort the problem?!
Dear All,
Good day. I also experienced the same problem and finally I fixed it.
Just:
The problem will be solved
