I upgraded my OS from Mohave to Big Sur 11.1 and the problem is solved - My understanding is that the new version of Safari is integrated into the new OS. Now the Upload button works on all sites that I tried - Amazon, Shopify, Etc...

@Tumbach CommandR will re-install the OS that your computer originally came with...

If you want to install a specific MacOS different from what yours originally came with, follow this link instead

Clicking on the MacOS version you do want, will bring you to the MacAppStore download page for that version

Once it finishes downloading it will prompt you to install it

I tried CommandR first, but it prompted me to install HighSierra for my 2018 MBP

I wanted to remain on Mojave so I followed the steps above and now I'm good to go

Hello!

I have the same issue. Looking at "Console App" I have found the following:

coreauthd -[ContextProxy evaluatePolicy:options:uiDelegate:originator:reply:]_block_invoke -> (null), Error Domain=com.apple.LocalAuthentication Code=-6 "Biometry is not available on this device." UserInfo={BiometryType=0, NSLocalizedDescription=Biometry is not available on this device.} on <private>

kernel ACM: verifyPolicy: Verifying policy DeviceOwnerAuthenticationWithBiometrics, checkKeybagUUID = No, CS[105].

kernel ACM: verifyPolicy: Policy satisfied = No, preflight = Yes, CS[105].

Safari -[LAClient evaluatePolicy:options:uiDelegate:reply:]_block_invoke -> (null), Error Domain=com.apple.LocalAuthentication Code=-6 "Biometry is not available on this device." UserInfo={BiometryType=0, NSLocalizedDescription=Biometry is not available on this device.} on <private>

I hope it helps in order to fix as soon as possible.

Regards!

Apple literally just released Safari 14.0.2 for Mojave today and guess what? FILE UPLOAD IS STILL BROKEN. MacRumors' functionality works, which is weird, but any other site that has a normal "choose file" button doesn't work:

See on https://ps.uci.edu/~franklin/doc/file_upload.html or https://viljamis.com/filetest/ (websites you can test basic browser file upload capabilities).

Stop giving us this terrible support, @Crapple.

Steve Jobs would be sad.
