Timer does not ring in AirPods

Why does a timer not ring in AirPods when connected? The timer still makes phone ring instead which sometimes you need it to ring in a headphone setting.

Why does your AirPod not tell you who’s calling like other Bluetooth headphones? When working out or doing something the headphones are supposed to let you connect but make life easier so you don’t have to feel so attached to your phone.

Hello Eauhler,

Welcome to Apple Support Communities. It looks like when a timer goes off, it plays on your iPhone instead of your AirPods. We'd be happy to clear things up.

"If you use iOS 11 or later and you connect headphones or speakers to your iPhone, the alarm plays at a set volume through the built-in speakers on your iPhone as well as wired headphones and speakers. It doesn't play through wireless headphones and speakers"
