Can I change AirPods function, so double tap will not hang up calls?

is there a way to change my settings , or airpod functions, so that the double tap feature will not hang up my calls? if an airpod falls out or i move repetitively in on movement, often times the call will hang up , and i want to be able to keep it from hanging up this way.
