Muffled mic on the camera app?

Since I recently updated my phone, my microphone when I use the camera app is muffled and inaudible. I've tried both front and back facing to try both mics. The same problem is with both.

I also cleaned the mics mesh hoping it would help but no luck.

This problem does not occur when I use third party apps like Snapchat or Instagram video. Can somebody help?
