iOS 14.2: VPN and FaceTime

i recently upgraded to an iPhone 12, running iOS 14.2. However, about a week in I noticed some problems. Whenever I would FaceTime a friend, they would pick up and I would get a black screen. This happened with about a 90% chance of this happening, although sometimes it would miraculously go through fine. After a day of talking with my service provider and Apple about this, I found out that it was due to a third party VPN I was using that came from a content blocker on my phone. Is there a fix for this?
