Big Sur mail is not moving emails to the trash folder after clicking the trash can. All preferences are correctly set.

When I click the trash can to move emails to the trash folder/mailbox is does. not go in there. I needed to retrieve an email that I had just deleted but when I went to the trash mailbox is was empty. My preferences are selected correctly. I am unable to retrieve. NOT liking Big Sur so far.

Hello LouieViolet,

We see that you're running into issues with deleting emails and sending them to the Trash. We can understand your concerns. If you have not tried already, please restart the Mac. Often this simple step will refresh the apps and software on the device to solve numerous problems you may encounter.

Does the issue happen with a specific user? If you do not have an alternate user you may need to create one to test with. Here's more information on how to Set up users, guests, and groups on Mac.

Best regards!
