Messenger icon absent on iphone but messenger installed on app store and its impossible to uninstall messenger

Thanks for choosing the Apple Support Communities. If we understand correctly, you are unable to remove Messenger from your iPhone.

Let's try going to Settings > General > iPhone Storage. Once there, locate the Messenger app, and tap the arrow on the right, then Delete App. We hope this helps.
