"SIM Not Supported"? What do I do?

What do I do when I switch carriers and get a new SIM card and it says this "SIM not supported. The SIM card that you currently have installed in this iPhone is from a carrier that is not supported under the activation policy that is currently assigned by the activation server. This is not a hardware issue with the iPhone. Please insert another SIM card from a supported carrier or request that this iPhone be unlocked by your carrier. Please contact Apple for more information.

This indicates that the phone you have is locked to a carrier other than the one you are trying to insert the SIM from. See this about unlocking an iPhone to use with another carrier. How to unlock your iPhone for use with a different carrier - Apple Support
