Since upgrading to Big Sur, my wireless Magic Keyboard has a really annoying lag unless it is plugged in directly to the Mac. I've tried resetting PRAM and no good. Not a problem before the upgrade. Anybody else experiencing this? MacBook Pro 16 2019.
Every time I do that, it does work... for anywhere from 30 mins to a couple days... then back to not working. Also, my magic trackpad does the same thing... however, it's tolerable and I can plug that in if I need to which does away with bluetooth connection all together. I'm lucky I had my old apple usb keyboard so I'm just using that, not a big fan of the size as it has the numpad.
I'm experiencing the same issue with my Magic Keyboard with number pad when connected via Bluetooth. I have a lag that is significant and very noticeable since I updated to MacOS big Sur. I'm also experiencing a severe sticky key with my space bar that it's so annoying it's actually completely interfering with my workflow. (Just to clarify, this is a fairly new keyboard with a protective cover, so I'm 100% sure nothing is stuck under or around the keys, and it's still in like-new condition).
I have used the temp fix mentioned here somewhere to keek it plug in to fix the lag and stick key, and that seems to be working, but I'm upset that this is happening since the whole idea for buying this keyboard is its Bluetooth wireless feature.
I am having the same issue using a brand new MacMini, Magic Trackpad and Magic Keyboard w/ numeric keys. The trackpad and keyboard often develop a lag, particularly if the screen saver engages.
I agree this is not acceptable considering the amount of money spent. Apple needs to address this issue.

I was having this issue with a magic keyboard with number pad. I figured it was a hardware issue, so I swapped it for an extra I had lying around. Same problem.
Every few minutes, my keyboard will start to glitch, popping up the special character menu you get when you hold down on a character (to get accents & etc). It will also start inserting a bunch of spaces. If I try to delete, it will backspace like 40 times. Massively frustrating. Cycling keyboards off and on definitely does not work.
Tried resetting the Bluetooth module. Will see if that works.
I'm seeing the same issue on 2017 Macbook utilizing Apple Wireless keyboard with numeric pad. Just upgraded to 11.2.3 last night and within first 3 hours of using it this morning it stopped working again. Never had issues until upgrading to big sir.
Just want to bump this issue. I am seeing the same thing on MBP 2020 13".
Wireless keyboards (I've tried two magic keyboards) lag, or are unresponsive in general, as well as stick on certain characters.
I've tried power cycling with minimal effect (issue usually pops back up within an hour or two), bluetooth cycling which does the same as power cycling, and PRAM reset which resolved the issue temporarily for a couple of days before I started experiencing the same thing.
same problem here. arrow key does not work all the time. and it type a bunch of different character when pressing arrow keys.
How did you reset the PRAM? I tried deleting the keyboard connection in the bluetooth pref. But the problem still exist. Thank you.
Out of curiosity - which BT keyboard do you folks have? I'm using the one without numerical pads. I've been fairly trouble free lately, a couple of times had key lag, but nothing like before.
Mine is without numeric keypads.

My MBP 2017 running Big Sur won't connected to my wireless apple keyboard (no dedicated num keys) nor my apple trackpad. Is this problem still persisting? TIA
None of my older wireless bluetooth keyboards work.
