Your solution is kind of simple. First uninstall all of the HP software, put it in the Trash and empty Trash.
Then Reset the Printing system using https://support.apple.com/guide/mac-help/reset-mac-printing-system-solve-a-problem-mh14001/mac
The re-add the printer per the directions in https://support.apple.com/guide/mac-help/add-a-printer-mh14004/mac and you should be back in business. The whole process should take less than 10 minutes.

Lucky me, found a 6 years old Canon laser printer in my closet and it works simply by just plug and play. However, I did realized I have a Mac mini in the living room TV cabinet which still running Catalina, I was able to use this mini to get the printer working and setup to run network AirPrint without too much trouble. I am glad that I have two working printers now. Just wish HP didn't pour a stung like this.
To be clear: now I'm using my HP connected via WiFi with Big Sur with AirPrint protocol. But it's much slower on printing than it was with HP drivers, and sometimes it produces strange results like grey background instead of white.
Time to get a new printer.
After spending two hours on this I concluded that Big Sur OSX 11.0 no longer supports driver Printers and has gone driverless.

That is why there is no support for this through HP or Apple, and why they give you the runaround to install the generic HP printer "Easy Start" and "Smart App" setup garbage which never finds your printer.

It says "We were not able to automatically locate any software options for this product, please go to HP website and search for product solutions here".

I went but nothing can be found there either.
Do you use HP software to manage the printer?
Yes, I was prompted to download HP Easy Smart, but it failed within while install as it can't find driver for it.
No good.
I confirm: it works! Thank you!
Your welcome.
Sorry but, what works, and how it works exactly?
Is it the wifi printing?
I did a Google search for HP LaserJet Pro P1102w and came up with
Clicked that link and instantly found a driver that was introduced on November 13th.
I used to work for HP years ago, one of the reasons I dropped using all of their devices is the poor support.
