Faulty logic board - how to erase hard drive

Hi there,

I have been told by an authorised service provider that the logic board in my 2016 MacBook has failed - it won’t recognise its internal hard drive when it boots up.

I am thinking about trying to sell it for spares / parts, but I’m concerned that all of my data and personal information is still stored on the hard drive. I am wondering if there is any way to erase the hard drive in its current state? I don’t believe I have Find my Mac activated on it.

I suspect not but thought I would ask...

thanks all!

The hard drive is soldered to the logic board, so it will be scrap along with the logic board. Since the RAM is also soldered to the logic board, there would be very little value with it for spare parts.
