Change Finder View dropdown to icons

Hello!

So I just updated to Big Sur, and there is one thing that is frustrating me that I can't figure out...I don't like the finder view options as a dropdown menu....I prefer to have the individual icons instead, because I rapidly change those when I need to...

However when I go to customize, in the customize part it shows them as individual icons, but when I drag it to the top of my finder, it puts them in a dropdown...is there any way to change this?

Thanks!

This whole toolbar interface in Big Sur has me in a foul mood. You cannot override that selection view icon with the customize horizontal array of views icon, so you will have to use the following keyboard shortcuts instead which is less reaching than with a input device to the window toolbar:

  • ⌘+ 1 : icon view
  • ⌘+ 2 : list view
  • ⌘+ 3 : column view
  • ⌘+ 4 : Gallery view
