I am looking to buy the new iphone, I am wondering what the benefit of choosing a carrier is, I already use AT&T and plan to keep using them, but I might change my carrier in the next year or two. If I buy with AT&T am I allowed to change my carrier in a year or two or would I need to buy a new iphone in order to change carriers?

Carriers may have different contracts terms an conditions.
To avoid unpleasant surprises, contact your carrier and ask them for their unlock policy.
