I want to purchase a new iPhone to take to a new carrier, however, you have to say which carrier you're with currently. So, do I say AT&T even though the purpose of getting the new iPhone is to move to Verizon?

If I start the purchase process on Apple's website and get to the point where it shows the carrier options.. it says to select it if you want it to come ready to go out of the box.. but there is an option below that says 'connect on your own later'. I'm guessing that you'd want to connect on your own later?

OK - Thank you. That's probably right. Assuming Verizon doesn't require anything special that I would need to indicate prior?
Also...weird that it costs $29 extra if I don't select a carrier
