iPhone SE 2020 bad camera quality

I was super excited to upgrade from the SE gen 1 to the SE gen 2, but am disappointed in the camera quality. In good natural lighting the photos are high quality but when in cloudier, dim lit, or more overcast situations the iPhone auto adjusts the contrast and lighting and overall makes the photo very blurry. Is their a solution to this? (Also, my hdr is turned off)
