Missing exercise minutes from Apple Watch

I just completed a 60 minute walk on treadmill but my watch only gave me a total of 18 minutes exercise. What am I missing?

How fast were you going?

You need to be moving at around 3.3 MPH for it to record as a workout.

Your heart rate needs to get up.
