Can no longer paste an image into a message

Upgraded to Big Sur and now I can't paste an image into a message. Paste is grayed out. Anyone else experiencing this?

Messages application does not display the "Apps Button"? Running MacOS 10.15.7 and the Messages application does not have the "Apps Button" that is mentioned in Apple's documentation, which allows for adding photos or inserting a GIF. Have been looking online to see if there's a setting I have missed but so far, no joy.

Selecting text in Messages using Big Sur Has anyone noticed that using Messages with Big Sur is a bit more difficult than past OS's? When I type a message and want to either copy/cut/delete something I've already written, I'm unable to press shift + left/right/up/down arrows to select the text. I'm forced to use my mouse to click and highlight the text which is very annoying and feels like I'm hitting a speed bump every time. I'm fully able to select text using the shift + arrow keys in any other application or browser, it's just Messages that's causing me problems. Has anyone had this issue or know how to fix it?

try using cmd+V instead. But I can paste it normally, try restarting the app or restart your Mac.

SMH... Being a past PC person I kept trying CTL+V. CMD+V works. Thanks!

you can customize the keyboard shortcuts in the keyboard shortcuts settings "apple menu > system preferences > keyboard > shortcut"
