I just purchased a new iPhone 12 pro max. Every time I plug it into my PC it always tries to backup to iCloud which I don't want. I have to keep changing the setting to the computer. I have the latest update 14.2 on the iPhone and the latest version of iTunes. My old iPhone 7 Plus never did this. Once I selected backup to my computer that's the way it would stay. As far as iCloud I only have my photos and documents backed up on iCloud.
try turn off iCloud backup in your phone iCloud setting
I used to use Ccleaner haven’t used it for awhile. Maybe I should use it again. I have over 200 Gb of music. Not storing that on iCloud. Cost too much.
Why back up the iPhone to the computer and not iTunes or iCloud? Do you not wish to use either of those services to backup? Also, if backing up the data from the iPhone to the computer, I believe you may have to use third-party software to save the files.
iTunes gives you the option to backup to iCloud or this computer. I always choose the computer. Those backups allow me to rebuild the library if I need to. iTunes on Windows work a little differently than on a Mac.
To backup to my computer not iCloud. I always keep my iPhone backed up to my pc.
did you use some disk cleaner apps? it may clear your setting to the default one because apple want you to use iCloud
My iCloud backup on the iPhone is off.
If you don't wish for it to backup to iTunes, then why are you connecting it to the computer?
