I wish to have a different "me" contact on my iPhone than on my wife. Right now I can only have one of us as the "me" contact for both phones.

That is because both you and your wife are using the same Apple ID on your respective iPhones. Both of you should be using separate Apple IDs and that will prevent data duplication on your iPhones.

I'm not completely sure that I know what you're talking about.. but are you sharing an Apple ID with your wife? If so, they were not meant to be shared.. you should have separate Apple IDs
