Can I put iMac 27" 2017 1- 8,3 memory in an iMac 21.5", 2017 - 18,2?

For my Imac 18,2 I need "2400‑MHz DDR4-memory" .

I can get similar "2400‑MHz DDR4-memory SO-DIMM" meant for a iMac 18,3 (27") from someone for whom it is redundant.

As far as I see it is compatible. And I can use it.

Hope you can shed some insights.

Both Crucial.com and Macsales.com make extremely high quality products. Their RAM has a lifetime warranty, products are reasonably priced, the service is great and the list goes on. Most experienced users on these forums use these vendors for their RAM upgrades. Personally on my 2020 iMac I bought Macsales.com RAM however I have used Crucial.com too and have never had any issues with either vendor.

Sure I know.

It is that I can get my hands on those Authentic Apple 2400‑MHz DDR4-memory SO-DIMM memory cards; otherwise everyone will tell me to go for OWC :-)

Specs wise they are similar. But ho, specs in a list is different from real capabilities in-vitro.

And there is an apple-shop over here that charges for the disassembly + bring your own device, assembly; and if needed, the porting. They themselves generally provide Crucial memory. Then they have a fixed upgrade price.
