Epson R2400 on macOS 11 Big Sur

Similar to people who have updated their Mac to macOS 11 Big Sur and are having trouble setting-up older Epson printers, my Epson Stylus Photo R2400 printer cannot be set up on my new M1 MacBook Air. There is absolutely nothing wrong with the printer; it works perfectly from my iMac running Catalina. The Epson web site says:

Compatibility details for Epson R2400

Your product is macOS Big Sur compatible. The product driver is available via the Epson support website.

Printer Driver: Please use v10.85 or later.

. . . but there is absolutely no sign of the v10.85 driver anywhere.

Anyone any ideas on this one, please?

Epson has the driver available on their site for macOS 11.x. After you install it, visit System Preferences : Printers & Scanners, and right-click on the current printer icon. Select Reset the print system…, and re-add the printer choosing the R2400 printer driver (to ensure you have the currently just installed Nov 18 driver). Once the R2400 icon is back in the Printers panel, right-click on it again, and make Default printer. Print something.

Hello,

A driver for the L1110 can be found here:

https://www.epson.eu/support?productID=22920&language=en&os=38#drivers_and_manuals

However, if you have the problem with USB: If a printing system reset does not change anything, you may have to experiment with a temporary solution in order to achieve network connectivity. Perhaps, printer sharing, as mentioned by JJGraphics, using another appropriate Mac. Maybe, connecting the printer to a Wi-Fi router with a USB port for printers (such as an old AirPort Extreme base station). Possibly, using a Wi-Fi-to-USB, or Ethernet-to-USB, print server (for example, from TP-Link, StarTech, or Axis).
