Apple Device Email Setup

I have an old sbcglobal.net email address originally accessed on yahoo, which still works, but is now serviced by Att. I access my mail on a pc with outlook, and it is set up as an imap, and I never actually go to yahoo. I use apple mail for a phone and iPad. When I set up the account on the apple devices and had to pick an account type, I chose Other and it automatically got named an sbcglobal account type. Was this the correct way to set it up? There are a handful of choices, and outlook seemed wrong, but Yahoo was an option so should I have chosen that? I’m asking now because my email password is being rejected on all of my devices except the yahoo website. Some research suggests I have to remove my accounts and re-load them with OAuth to meet new Att security standards. If I am going to do that, I want to make sure I am doing it right and getting all devices to be synced for email, which has not been happening.

Thank you for any help you can provide.

Hello D_from_TX,

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities!

We understand from your post that you want to make sure you set up your older email address correctly as the password is not being accepted on your Apple devices. Once you have deleted the account, use the steps from this article to set it up properly. You may need to contact AT&T and ask them if you should choose Outlook, Yahoo, or Other.
